Job summary

Charles River Associates seeks a Senior Associate in London to work with senior consultants on major European competition cases, shaping economic analyses and thinking. You will contribute to model-building, data estimation, and client deliverables while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires a PhD in economics with applied microeconomics focus, strong quantitative skills, and excellent communication. Minimal travel is expected as much work occurs in the office.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics with focus on Applied Microeconomics or Applied Microeconometrics (Dec 2026/Summer 2027).
• Strong understanding of economic, financial and/or accounting concepts; ability to explain methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication; leadership and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and conceptualise issues, specify rigorous economic models, and perform econometric estimation.
• Supervise, train and mentor research staff.
• Develop and present client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers.
• Act as primary contact for lawyers and clients on relevant issues.
• Program, build models and/or run regression analyses in Stata, Python, R or SAS.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of analyses and contribute to practice-building activities.
