The opportunity

The Global External Reporting Team in London is part of the central finance function supporting the EY network worldwide. The team, consisting of twelve members, handles statutory accounts preparation, including consolidations, for the UK EY firm and global entities. They also provide technical accounting advice to global finance leadership, influencing decisions across the EY network. This position offers exposure to senior management in the UK and globally, with a dynamic workload. The team is known for being motivated, friendly, supportive, and highly regarded within finance.

While not client-facing, working at EY provides the chance to develop industry-specific skills and gain valuable experiences, supported by a vast network of experienced finance professionals.

An opening exists for a Financial Reporting Accountant to focus on preparing statutory accounts for the UK firm, including consolidated group accounts and subsidiaries. Responsibilities include managing the statutory reporting process for specific subsidiaries and liaising closely with external auditors.

Your key responsibilities

• Preparing UK subsidiary financial statements.
• Reviewing and engaging with subsidiary accounting throughout the year.
• Supporting year-end processes, including liaising with auditors, consolidations, and assisting with group financial statements. This requires planning and project management skills.
• Driving improvements in the statutory accounting process.
• Collaborating with various teams within finance and other departments.
• Participating in ad hoc projects, analysis, and reporting for learning opportunities.
