Job Description:

We are working with a leading global law firm to find a talented Contentious Construction Senior Associate for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work within one of the world’s largest and most respected disputes practices, advising top-tier clients across the infrastructure, energy, and transport sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Act for employers, developers, funders, and major contractors on complex contentious construction matters
• Handle high-value domestic and cross-border disputes across sectors including infrastructure, transport, and natural resources
• Advise on dispute resolution mechanisms including litigation, international arbitration, adjudication, and other ADR processes
• Work with major standard-form construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT, LOGIC) and associated transaction documents
• Provide strategic advice on live project issues and support efforts to avoid formal disputes

Qualifications:

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales)
• 5+ PQE with solid experience in contentious construction law
• Expertise in a broad range of dispute forums, including arbitration and litigation
• Familiarity with key industry contracts and procurement structures
• Sector experience in infrastructure, energy, and project finance is advantageous
