Job summary

Trethowans LLP in Southampton seeks an experienced Senior Associate to bolster its Commercial Litigation Team. You will handle a varied, high-quality caseload and contribute to the firm's regional growth, advising on a broad range of disputes including shareholder and director matters.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' PQE in commercial litigation, strong technical ability, and a collaborative approach. Hybrid working and a competitive salary are provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in commercial litigation, ideally gained at a respected regional or national firm.
• Strong experience in shareholder and director disputes, corporate and commercial disputes.
• Experience in construction disputes would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Excellent technical ability, sound commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage client relationships confidently and effectively.
• Ambition to contribute to the continued growth and success of a leading regional Commercial Litigation practice.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on a wide variety of commercial disputes, including shareholder and director disputes, corporate and commercial disputes, construction disputes, contract claims, professional negligence, and insolvency-related matters.
• Managing your own caseload of complex and high-value matters, whilst supporting partners on strategic litigation.
• Preparing legal documents, correspondence, witness evidence and court applications, and representing clients through court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser to businesses and individuals.
• Supporting business development initiatives, networking activities and the generation of new work.
• Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the continued success of the wider team.
