Qualifications
- Must be a qualified solicitor or Legal Executive with substantial post-qualification experience in clinical negligence.
- Experience handling complex claimant or defendant clinical negligence work desirable.
- Excellent drafting, advocacy, negotiation and analytical abilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims from instruction through investigation and trial.
- Instruct and manage a range of medical experts and other professionals.
- Draft letters of advice, claims, pleadings and schedules of loss.
- Negotiate settlements and interim payments with NHS bodies, insurers and others.
- Ensure cases comply with Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocols.
- Provide clear, empathetic advice to clients and families.
