Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior / Associate Civil Engineer in Leicester. You will play a critical role in project planning, technical oversight, and compliance, ensuring that designs meet the necessary regulations. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Civil Engineering with over 3 years of experience in relevant roles and proficiency in BIM tools. This position does not offer hybrid working or relocation support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Civil or Structural roles.
• Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership is advantageous.
• Knowledge of design tools in a BIM environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Senior Management in qualifying, designing, and signing off on works.
• Ensuring designs comply with building codes and safety regulations.
• Preparing reports on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.

Job Description:

Responsibilities of the Civil Engineer:

• Project Planning and Design: Supporting Senior Management in qualifying, designing, and signing off on works ensuring compliance at each stage.
• Technical Oversight: Providing technical oversight and guidance on civil engineering contracts and projects.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Supporting BID & Tendering teams and conducting feasibility studies.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensuring designs, plans, and projects comply with building codes and safety regulations.
• Inspection and Maintenance: Inspecting structures and recommending repairs or alterations.
• Reporting: Preparing reports on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Supporting junior team members' development and sign-off.
• Attending client visits as required, representing the business.

Experience required:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years in Civil or Structural roles.
• Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership is advantageous.
• Knowledge of design tools in a BIM environment.
• Experience in High Rise, Residential, or Student Accommodation projects.
• Experience with Civil Design Software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, and Autodesk Revit.
