Job description

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Head of Business Deposits, the Senior Associate Business Banking (SABB) role is an exciting opportunity which involves engaging business customers across Northern Ireland, from SMEs to larger businesses, and acquiring new-to-bank business term deposits.

Travel for in-person collaboration is required, with a minimum of 3 days per week in an office as agreed with the Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Establish working relationships with a portfolio of business customers, being accountable for end-to-end value creation (retention, growth and profitability) from this portfolio.
  • Meet key targets in respect of customer outreach volumes, successful engagement, retention and growth of funds, new-to-bank deposit acquisition and cross sales.
  • Maximise income for Bank of Ireland in accordance with set targets
  • Take personal accountability for the service being delivered to this portfolio of business customers and, in doing so, enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong team ethic by working collaboratively and closely with team members. Also working effectively with colleagues in BBNI and the wider Retail bank to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ensure the required internal control standards are upheld, including adherence to audit, regulatory and compliance policies.

What will make you stand out?

  • Commercial Relationship Management experience essential, with ability to develop existing customers by engaging effectively and building mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships.
  • Excellent business development skills, along with strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of Bank of Ireland products, processes and systems and effectively working with key internal stakeholders to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Good team player, evidenced by ability to work collaboratively & supportively with management and colleagues in branches / Business Centres to problem solve and deliver positive customer experience.
  • Capacity to effectively interrogate and apply internal data to identify and strengthen customer knowledge, manage target customer lists and inform business development activities.
  • Independent worker with the ability to meet engagement targets within agreed timescales
  • Strong evidence of the ability to follow banks processes and procedures and compliance requirements with a high level of accuracy including adherence to audit, regulatory and compliance policies.
