Job summary

Walkers, a leading international law firm, invites applications for a Senior Associate to join its Banking & Finance team in Jersey. Based in the Jersey office, you will advise global blue-chip clients and intermediaries, delivering technically sound, commercial solutions in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage files, share knowledge through conferences and training, and contribute to revenue growth while upholding the firm’s values and professional ethics.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
• Excellent academics.
• Ambitious and commercially driven.
• Solid legal skills with market knowledge and technical knowledge of the relevant law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Senior Associate in the Firm's B&F Practice in Jersey.
• Provide technically sound advice and a highly responsive service externally to clients and internally to colleagues, senior counsel and partners.
• Manage files in accordance with the Firm's requirements, expectations and practices.
• Participate in the development of the practice’s know-how, sharing knowledge and training.
• Maintain revenue generation and profitability, following billing rates, managing costs and ensuring utilization.
• Adhere to the Firm's values and professional ethics.

Walkers is offering an opportunity to an ambitious and technically strong lawyer to join its market leading and dynamic Banking and Finance ("B&F") team, as it continues on its proven and ongoing trajectory of growth. The successful candidate will be based in the Firm's Jersey office, joining a team of leading practitioners, working on behalf of global blue chip clients and intermediaries. In helping to build out and service the Jersey B&F business, they will be a part of the ongoing expansion across all of the Firm's practice groups in the Channel Islands.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

• Senior Associate in the Firm's B&F Practice in Jersey.
• Provide technically sound advice and a highly responsive service externally to clients and internally by way of support, as needed, to colleagues, senior counsel and partners on all client matters.
• Manage files in accordance with the Firm's requirements, expectations and practices from time to time.
• Participate in the development of the practice’s know-how, sharing knowledge and actively participating in conferences, seminars, client presentations and internal training.
• Maintain a sustained record of revenue generation and profitability, following recommended billing rates, managing costs appropriately and ensuring personal utilization meets expectations.
• Adhere to the Firm's values and professional ethics.
