This is an opportunity to join a multi-billion-pound global platform responsible for managing a range of credit/debt exposures across multiple asset classes in the Infra/Energy space. This role is for a Senior Associate/Associate Director tasked with managing approximately £30bn of Infra/Energy credit portfolio.
The firm has an international presence and manages debt and equity portfolios across various industries. The key responsibilities include:
- Providing credit risk services, including monitoring and recommending actions for a portfolio of positions, ensuring timely delivery according to SLAs to enable asset owners to assess their risk positions and make informed decisions.
- Supporting portfolio transaction surveillance, reporting, and new business initiatives within wider teams and the firm.
- Monitoring development of individual transactions, conducting market and sector research, and informing management and clients of material developments on a portfolio of primarily performing loans.
- Conducting annual analysis of key risks such as financial, operational, off-taker/supplier/guarantor, country/regulatory, and market risks.
- Preparing concise internal credit papers, including credit reviews and waivers, in a timely manner for review and approval during the loan lifecycle.
- Collaborating with line managers to ensure smooth credit processes.
- Managing workflows proactively and independently.
- Updating cash flow models with base and stress scenarios to assess future performance and risks.
- Preparing internal ratings and client reports on trends, remedies, progress, and exit strategies as applicable.
- Analyzing drawdown requests and transaction-related reports from borrowers and advisors.
- Tracking covenants timely and accurately in relevant systems.
The Candidate
- Previous experience in credit/risk/asset management, particularly in infrastructure and energy project finance.
- Strong understanding of project and corporate finance, credit risk drivers, and sector-specific risks.
- Analytical, technical skills, and ability to interpret complex loan documentation and financing structures.
- Comfortable presenting to clients and credit committees, and articulating strategies and recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other data analysis tools.
