Job Title: Senior Associate/Associate Director – Debt Asset Management (Infra & Energy), London
This role offers the opportunity to join a multi-billion-pound global platform responsible for managing a diverse range of credit and debt exposures across multiple asset classes within the Infra/Energy sector. The position involves managing approximately £30 billion in Infra/Energy credit portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide credit risk services, including monitoring and recommending actions for a portfolio of positions, ensuring timely deliverables in line with SLAs to support asset owners' risk assessment and decision-making.
- Support portfolio transaction surveillance, reporting, and new business initiatives within a team environment.
- Continuously monitor portfolio transactions, conduct market and sector research, and inform management and clients of material developments, primarily concerning performing loans.
- Conduct annual analyses of key risks such as financial, operational, off-taker/supplier/guarantor, country/regulatory, and market risks.
- Prepare concise internal credit papers (credit reviews, waivers, amendments) for review and approval, ensuring adherence to formats and timelines.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure a smooth credit process and proactively manage workflows.
- Update cash flow models, including base and stress scenarios, to assess future performance and risks.
- Prepare internal ratings and client reports on trends, remedies, progress, and exit strategies.
- Evaluate drawdown requests and related financial, technical, and legal reports from borrowers and advisors.
- Track covenants timely and accurately in relevant systems.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in credit/risk/asset management, particularly in infrastructure and energy project finance.
- Strong understanding of project and corporate finance, with knowledge of credit risk drivers in relevant sectors.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and documentation skills, capable of interpreting complex loan structures and communicating modeling concepts.
- Comfortable in client-facing roles, capable of presenting recommendations to credit committees and investors.
- Effective negotiator and strategist, able to represent the firm confidently.
- Organized with strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Skilled in producing clear, concise, and insightful decision papers.
- A team player adaptable to multicultural, international environments.
- Capable of quick adaptation to changing requirements and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other data analysis tools.
