Job Description

The Senior Associate Application Engineer is responsible for programming features and test cases while learning about broader product development and operations concepts. This role accelerates technical knowledge by collaborating with engineering teammates. The engineer actively manages and escalates risks and customer-impacting issues to management.

Responsibilities

1. Complete most features and user stories, including test cases and automation.
2. Learn complex software engineering practices such as domain-driven design, test-driven development, operations, and security.
3. Contribute to agile ceremonies, lead demos and presentations, help new engineers learn established norms, and participate in technology communities.
4. Participate in system design decisions and understand their impact on the product.
5. Support production systems and understand how observed events and failures affect the product.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, we need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience or education in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related areas.
• For internal applicants: an advanced beginner proficiency rating on the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with Java and Spring framework.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.

External applicants will be required to perform a technical interview.
