An exciting opportunity for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) at a leading healthcare provider. The role involves performing diagnostic tests and supporting patient care in a busy department. Candidates should possess excellent communication and IT skills, with a focus on patient reassurance and safety.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) to join our busy department. This role will be based at both the PRH/RSH site and the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Hollinswood House.
The successful candidate will have experience dealing with the general public, ideally in a healthcare setting. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Once trained, you will perform basic diagnostic tests including 12-lead ECGs, fitting long-term ECG monitors, blood pressure, and sleep monitoring. You will also be trained in respiratory tests (Spirometry/FeNO) and assisting with Exercise ECGs. The role requires coverage of all hospital environments at PRH/RSH and independent work at the CDC.
To assist in providing a high-quality cardio-respiratory service.
Senior Assistant Technical Officers (SATO) are healthcare workers performing routine physiological measurements, with results aiding in patient treatment decisions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The role demands excellent communication skills to reassure often anxious patients, and a basic knowledge of ECG interpretation to alert medics to any acute changes requiring immediate attention. Full training will be provided.
The Cardio-respiratory Department is based at both hospital sites, with Cardiac Diagnostics mainly at The Princess Royal Hospital. We are a large, friendly team working closely with admin staff and Physiologists to deliver a comprehensive diagnostic service.
