Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant (SATO) working within the Medicines Procurement and Distribution Department on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in supplying medicinal items within the Medicines Distribution Unit (MDU) to wards and departments across Barts Health.
  2. Support procurement activities, including ordering and receiving stock from suppliers and manufacturers.
  3. Maintain stock control systems, including managing the Pharmacy Robot, ensuring accuracy and availability of stock.
  4. Supervise Assistant Technical Officers (ATOs) and other staff within the MDU, ensuring SOPs are followed.
  5. Process invoices and ensure compliance with financial protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum functional skills qualification in English and Maths, and a Level 2 in Pharmacy services.
  • Experience in supervising a team and working in healthcare is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and supervise others.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of stock management systems in a healthcare setting.
