Job summary

MUVE Healthcare is seeking an experienced Senior Assistant Psychologist to support psychology services and contribute to clinical assessments, formulation-informed care planning and structured interventions. You will deliver group sessions, assist with service evaluation and support multidisciplinary teams within supervision.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, reflective practice and data-informed care in a busy mental health setting, with regular clinical supervision provided.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Psychology recognised for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
• Previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist.
• Experience in mental health settings with complex presentations and vulnerabilities.
• Applied knowledge of psychological models, assessment, formulation and interventions.
• Experience supporting or delivering assessments, interventions and group work.
• Experience working independently within a psychology team and with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong skills in record keeping, report writing, research or data collection, and audit.
• Experience facilitating or co-facilitating groups or structured programmes.
• Sound understanding of trauma-informed care, safeguarding and ethical practice.
• Ability to manage workload, communicate sensitively, and engage in supervision and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structured psychological assessments under clinical supervision and contribute to formulation-informed care plans.
• Deliver structured psychological interventions and facilitate therapeutic groups within competence.
• Monitor outcomes and contribute to audit, research, service evaluation and quality improvement.
• Support service coordination, engagement and referral/discharge processes.
• Share psychologically informed approaches with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to clinical resources.
• Support induction, guidance or mentorship of Assistant Psychologists and other staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold confidentiality, safeguarding and data security requirements.
