Job summary

PJ Care in Milton Keynes is recruiting an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our care centers. The role involves psychological assessments under supervision, including psychometrics, self-report measures and structured observations, to support residents with neurological conditions.

You will need a bachelor’s degree in psychology and experience as an Assistant Psychologist or carer in residential care, with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or equivalent.
• Experience as an Assistant Psychologist or carer in resident care with adults who have neurological conditions, including dementia and acquired brain injury, or demonstrated awareness of clinical psychology services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Use psychometrics, self-report measures and rating scales.
• Conduct direct and indirect structured observations, monitoring mood, anxiety and behaviour.
• Assist in formulation and delivery of psychological support plans.
• Review reports for all residents.
• Be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
