Job summary

MUVE Healthcare in Manchester is seeking a Senior Assistant Psychologist to support psychology services under supervision. You will contribute to assessments, formulation-informed care planning and low- to moderate-intensity interventions, while facilitating groups and contributing to service evaluation.

The role involves working with complex mental health presentations, maintaining professional boundaries, and receiving regular clinical supervision.

Qualifications

• An honours degree in Psychology recognised for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
• Experience as an Assistant Psychologist.
• Experience across mental health settings with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
• Applied knowledge of psychological models, assessment, formulation and interventions.
• Experience supporting or delivering assessments, interventions and group work.
• Experience working independently within a psychology team and with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong skills in record keeping, report writing, research or data collection, and audit.
• Experience facilitating or co-facilitating groups or structured programmes.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care, safeguarding and ethical practice.
• Ability to manage workload, communicate sensitively and engage in supervision.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structured psychological assessments under clinical supervision and contribute to formulation-informed care plans.
• Deliver structured psychological interventions and facilitate therapeutic groups within your competence.
• Monitor outcomes and contribute to audit, research, service evaluation and quality improvement.
• Support service coordination, service user engagement and referral or discharge processes where appropriate.
• Share psychologically informed approaches with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to clinical resources.
• Support the induction, guidance or mentorship of Assistant Psychologists and other support staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold confidentiality, safeguarding and data security requirements.
