An exciting new opportunity has become available at Buckinghamshire Council in the Asset Management Team. As a Senior Asset Manager, you will support the Asset Management Team in the active management of the Council’s operational and non-operational property portfolios, enhancing service delivery, investment returns, and capital receipts.
This is a fixed-term contract until 30th April 2026.

This senior role supports the Head of Asset Management. You will work independently and be proactive in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities include managing external consultancy and property management contracts across various Council portfolios.
This role offers diverse opportunities to develop your career in property and asset management, managing a broad and challenging portfolio. Initially, you will be based in the office or on-site at least two days a week, with flexible working hours within core hours.

The Assets Team manages a varied portfolio, including retail, office, industrial assets, farms, residential properties, schools, hotels, and theatres. There are ample opportunities to expand your property knowledge and participate in strategic projects that support revenue growth, capital receipts, service delivery, and asset rationalisation.
You will use your expertise to handle complex issues daily and take a strategic view on project and service delivery objectives.
You will manage individual projects with team support, support other team members, and oversee external contracts.
You will have the chance to influence the strategic direction of the portfolio and provide innovative solutions to complex situations.

Working Arrangements
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need network access to digital resources, which can be from home or an office. You will be required to work from the office a few days a week, depending on role and team needs.
Ideally, you will be RICS qualified or have relevant professional property experience within a corporate or investment environment, with strong planning and organisational skills.
You should have excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage your workload within deadlines, and strong literacy, numeracy, and report-writing skills. Negotiation skills and experience in complex property transactions are essential.
You will have experience working with the public, resolving challenging situations, and reporting to Members. You should be a self-starter with innovative ideas to enhance the property portfolio.
This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; applicants must declare all unspent cautions and convictions.
