Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon is recruiting a Senior Aseptic Services Pharmacist (Band 7) to join a brand-new Section 10 Aseptic Services Unit. The role offers the chance to help build a patient-centred, compliant aseptic service and to work at the forefront of high-cost, short-expiry medicines.

You will supervise day-to-day preparation, maintain GMP/GDP standards, and collaborate with oncology and pharmacy teams to coordinate care for high-risk injections and trials.

Qualifications

• Member of General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Masters Degree in Pharmacy.
• Post qualification in aseptic services (e.g. Pharmaceutical Technology Quality Assurance) or clinical (e.g. Clinical Diploma).
• Quality risk management training.
• Change management training.
• Experience of working in hospital pharmacy.
• Experience of working within pharmacy aseptic services operating under Section 10 exemption of the Medicines Act 1968.
• Awareness of legislation and standards relating to Good Manufacturing Practice.
• Clinical Pharmacy: core knowledge of therapeutics and pharmacology.
• Clinical reasoning and judgement.
• Ability to identify and prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of NHS agenda.

Responsibilities

• Act as an Authorised Pharmacist for day-to-day supervision of the PASU and ensure products meet standards.
• Work with the Accountable pharmacist to maintain facilities, equipment and high technical standards.
• Coordinate treatment provision with the Day Therapy Unit, haematology inpatient unit and other wards for high-risk injectables.

Masters Degree in Pharmacy
