Job summary

RG Setsquare in Shropshire seeks a Temporary Area Planning Manager to cover a six-month assignment. The role is hybrid and offers a day rate of up to £500 via Umbrella, with a 37-hour week.

You will lead an area-based planning team, oversee complex applications, and provide professional advice to senior officers, Members and stakeholders, deputising for the Planning & Development Services Manager when required.

Qualifications

• Senior planning professional with strong Development Management and team leadership experience.
• Experience leading a planning team and presenting to planning committees.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of professional planning officers.
• Oversee complex and major planning applications.
• Lead on planning committee reports and presentations.
• Provide senior professional planning advice.
• Deputise for the Planning & Development Services Manager when required.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure planning decisions are delivered efficiently, consistently and in accordance with legislation and policy.
