Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking an Area Building Surveyor to join the Facilities Management team. You will support a diverse range of assets, including libraries, emergency services, and care facilities, ensuring high standards, compliance and value.

You’ll work with Building Engineers and the Estates team to understand FM responsibilities for each building and liaise with tenants when required. A strong background in building surveying and project management is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Surveying/Building or equivalent with relevant experience.
• MRICS or MCIOB membership or equivalent professional recognition.
• Advanced knowledge of building surveying, project management and CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality FM services across WSCC property assets.
• Collaborate with Area Building Engineers, Area Facilities Manager and Estates team.
• Travel around the county to inspect and manage buildings and liaise with tenants as needed.
