Job summary

Vital Energi, based at its Head Office in Blackburn, seeks an experienced Architectural Technologist to lead the technical design of energy centres and renewable schemes from concept to completion.

Reporting to the CSA Lead and Architectural Development Manager, you will mentor graduates and technicians, produce detailed drawings, ensure compliance with building regulations, and coordinate with civil and structural teams on energy projects across heat pumps and solar installations.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Architectural Technology.
• Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in a design/design-build environment.
• Membership/MCIAT accreditation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and local planning policies.
• Experience with renewable technologies and energy centre design.
• Experience liaising with Local Authorities and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver detailed tender and construction drawings.
• Ensure building regulation compliance and site surveys.
• Lead the technical design of energy centres and renewable schemes.
• Coordinate with civil and structural teams.
• Mentor and manage graduate ATs/Technicians.
• Lead client meetings and site inspections.
