Job summary

Corstorphine & Wright is an award-winning architectural practice with design studios across the UK, and we are seeking a Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist for the Birmingham Studio. The role focuses on delivering high-quality technical drawings and documentation while collaborating across teams.

You will act as Project Manager where required, maintain regulatory knowledge, manage detailed design outputs using CAD/BIM, mentor junior staff, and ensure quality and compliance in line with

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering projects independently through multiple RIBA stages.
• Strong BIM and CAD capability with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• HNC/HND in a related discipline, or significant relevant professional experience.
• Membership of CIAT or working towards chartered status.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and associated technical standards.
• Ability to manage workload, make clear decisions and meet demanding deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and share knowledge.
• Experience liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and third parties.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Producing high quality technical drawings and supporting documentation in line with QMS procedures.
• Acting as Project Manager where required, ensuring services delivered efficiently, on time and within budget.
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of legislation, Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
• Ensuring full implementation of the Quality Management System.
• Managing production of detailed design drawings, working drawings, schedules and specifications using CAD and/or BIM.
• Arranging project reviews to help resolve technical challenges.
• Maintaining accurate project records through CMAP (with training provided).
• Understanding Appointment Documents, Scopes of Services and construction contract obligations.
• Reporting potential PI claims or risks to Directors.
• Mentoring junior technical team members and supporting their development.
