About the Role Our client, a prestigious architectural firm based in East London, Eastern Cape, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting the design and delivery of complex, high-profile projects across various sectors. You will be instrumental in translating conceptual designs into detailed technical documentation, ensuring compliance with building regulations and client specifications. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors, providing expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD and BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
• Coordinate with external consultants, including structural engineers, M&E engineers, and other specialists, to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with design intent.
• Prepare technical reports, tender documents, and construction phase information.
• Ensure all architectural work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Manage and mentor junior architectural staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Liaise directly with clients to present design proposals and technical solutions.
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the design and construction phases.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field (e.g., National Diploma in Architectural Technology, B.Tech Architecture).
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in architectural practice, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse project types.
• Proficiency in industry-standard BIM and CAD software, particularly Revit and AutoCAD.
• In-depth knowledge of South African building regulations, National Building Regulations (NBR), and SANS standards.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation and construction details.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience in managing project documentation and workflows.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site visits within the East London area and surrounding regions.
