What you'll do

As a Senior Architect in Commercial at Sainsbury's Tech, you will be crucial in our Core Commercial Transformation Programme – an SAP S/4HANA implementation. Your responsibilities include working with SAP and our Systems Integrator partner to define, plan, and oversee the functional design and integration across SAP modules and external systems, ensuring alignment with business goals. You will focus on delivering seamless end-to-end solutions by shaping and validating functional architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. You will resolve design challenges, enable complex landscape integrations, and contribute to strategic decisions. Collaboration with fellow architects and the wider engineering community to develop and communicate architecture, roadmap, and strategy is essential. Success requires understanding large-scale transformation programs, functional design leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a collaborative mindset. Staying informed on industry trends and applying modern design principles is key.

Who you are

We’d love to meet a Senior Architect with:

• 5+ years of architecture experience, ideally with large transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of enterprise system integration and functional design.
• Experience with SAP modules and/or retail industry (preferred but not essential).
• Experience with integration patterns such as Kafka, API, SOAP, and data transformation techniques.
• Solid understanding of security standards.
• Experience with cloud solutions and cloud integration (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A structured, analytical, and collaborative problem-solver who is proactive and can prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
