Job summary

Scale Careers is seeking an experienced Senior Architect / Technical Architect for a 3-month contract with a London practice. The role covers two live projects, hospitality and residential at RIBA Stage 4, with emphasis on technical design, package production and multi-disciplinary coordination, predominantly using Revit.

Experience with Gateway 2 / Building Safety Act and UK Building Regulations is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering at RIBA Stage 4 on hospitality/residential schemes.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Gateway 2 considerations.
• Experience coordinating with structural, MEP and specialist consultants.

Responsibilities

• Review consultant information and ensure coordination across packages.

• Take ownership of packages and work within an established project team.

Job description

A well-established London architecture practice is looking for an experienced Senior Architect / Technical Architect to join its team on an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will work across two live projects: a hospitality scheme and a residential housing development, both currently at RIBA Stage 4. The role will be heavily focused on technical design, package production and multidisciplinary coordination, working predominantly in Revit. The residential project is progressing through the Gateway 2 process, so previous experience working on a Gateway 2 / Building Safety Act project would be highly advantageous. Experience does not necessarily need to have been gained specifically within housing; candidates who have worked through the process on other relevant building types, including student accommodation, will also be considered.

Key Skills

• Strong Revit capability is essential
• Proven RIBA Stage 4 / technical delivery experience
• Previous hospitality and/or residential experience
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations
• Gateway 2 / Building Safety Act experience highly desirable
• Strong detailing and technical coordination skills
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
• Able to join an established project and become productive quickly
• ARB qualification advantageous but not essential depending on experience

This would suit an experienced contractor who is comfortable taking ownership of technical packages and can hit the ground running on live Stage 4 projects, while bringing relevant experience of complex residential and/or hospitality delivery.
