Job summary

Stantec is seeking Archaeology and Heritage Consultants to join our Environmental Assessment team across the UK, delivering heritage inputs for major water, highways and infrastructure projects. You will contribute from data searches and desk-based assessments to client liaison, risk analysis and mitigation planning.

At Consultant level you support heritage statements and planning-led schemes; at Senior Consultant level you lead on complex projects, coach junior colleagues and ensure technical

Qualifications

• You hold a degree in Archaeology or a heritage-related subject, and you are ideally a corporate member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, or working towards membership within twelve months of appointment.
• You bring sound multi-period knowledge of the British historic environment resource and a solid understanding of the UK's legislative, consultancy and national planning policy framework. You write reports clearly and to a high standard, and you approach client relationships with the focus and professionalism that complex, high-profile projects demand.
• Most importantly, you share our commitment to doing archaeology and heritage consultancy well, with genuine care for the environments, communities and histories that your work touches.

Responsibilities

• Join the Archaeology and Heritage Team, working across the UK on projects for major water, highways and infrastructure clients.
• Lead complex and high-risk schemes at Senior Consultant level, providing technical assurance of outputs and mentoring juniors.
• Contribute to EIA, planning policy inputs, mitigation strategies and heritage screening within multidisciplinary teams.
