Job summary

Dalcour Maclaren is recruiting a senior archaeology and built heritage consultant to join our expanding team in Stirling, Scotland. You will work across archaeology, built heritage and EIA, developing fieldwork programmes and managing projects with senior oversight.

You will lead and mentor junior staff, prepare fee proposals and ensure budgets and deadlines are met, while maintaining high professional standards and liaising with curators and clients.

Qualifications

• An understanding of the drivers of UK commercial archaeology, policies and guidance pertaining to the historic environment (from the candidate profile).
• Strong practical experience in commercial archaeology, consultancy, built heritage or curatorial work (approx. 5 years).
• Full clean UK Driving licence.
• Membership of CIfA (Associate or Member) or IHBC, or willingness to join.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support within the Archaeology and Built Heritage Team and allied Environment & Planning Teams.
• Prepare Archaeological DBAs and Built Heritage Statements and EIA chapters to a high standard.
• Design and develop fieldwork programmes and oversee site works as Clerk of Works.
• Source and commission archaeological fieldwork and surveys; coordinate with curators, stakeholders and clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members; prepare fee proposals and manage budgets.
