Environmental consultancy in Manchester seeks an Associate / Arboriculture Team Manager to lead the arboriculture service and contribute to client development.

You will combine technical arboricultural consultancy with team leadership, project management and relationship building, overseeing a varied workload and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' arboricultural consultancy experience with knowledge of tree surveying and risk assessment.
• Degree in Arboriculture or related subject; professional membership is advantageous.
• BS5837 experience and ability to produce technical reports and assessments.
• Understanding of planning and environmental requirements affecting trees (TPOs, Conservation Areas).
• Experience leading an arboricultural team, managing budgets, and client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilités

• Oversee a portfolio of arboricultural consultancy projects from instruction to completion.
• Lead and support Arboricultural Consultants and Surveyors; plan workload and develop staff.
• Conduct and review tree surveys, inspections, risk assessments and tree management work.
• Prepare and quality-check BS5837 documents, AIA and AMS.
• Produce technical reports and advise clients, planning authorities and landowners.
• Advise on planning and tree matters including TPOs and High Hedge legislation.
• Use CAD and GIS to support survey and development work.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
• Build client relationships and contribute to tenders and fee proposals.
• Collaborate with planning, environmental and other professional teams; ensure safety and quality.
