Job summary

A Senior Associate / Arboriculture Team Manager position based in Manchester with an established environmental consultancy. You will lead a skilled arboriculture team, deliver expert tree surveys, risk assessments and planning support while managing client relationships and project budgets.

The role combines technical arboricultural consultancy with leadership, business development and multidisciplinary collaboration, offering progression and a varied workload across sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in arboricultural consultancy.
• Degree in Arboriculture or related subject; professional membership advantageous.
• Strong BS5837 experience with reports and assessments.
• Good understanding of planning and environmental requirements for trees.
• Experience managing or leading an arboricultural team.
• Commercially confident with project budgeting and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee arboricultural consultancy projects from instruction to completion.
• Lead and develop Arboricultural Consultants and Surveyors.
• Undertake tree surveys, inspections and risk assessments.
• Prepare BS5837 docs, assessments and method statements.
• Produce reports and advise clients and authorities.
• Advise on planning matters including TPOs and High Hedge.
• Use CAD and GIS to support surveys and mapping.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and resources.
• Build client relationships and assist in tenders.
