Job summary

RSK Biocensus is recruiting an Arboricultural Consultant to join its growing team. The role combines site surveys, client meetings and technical reporting across UK projects, from ancient woodlands to major infrastructure.

You should have a Level 3-4 Arboriculture qualification and experience with BS5837 surveys. The role offers hybrid working, a salary of £29,000–£45,000 and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum QCF Level 3-4 qualification in Arboriculture.
• Experience undertaking tree surveys and inspections.
• Working knowledge of BS5837 and UK planning processes.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A friendly and approachable manner.
• The ability to provide detailed, concise and professional advice to clients (verbally and in report form) to required deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Undertake arboricultural surveys, inspections and assessments across a diverse range of development, infrastructure and land management projects
• Prepare high-quality technical reports including BS5837 surveys, Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Arboricultural Method Statements and Tree Protection Plans
• Lead Arboricultural Clerk of Works commissions on major infrastructure and development projects
• Assist with tender preparation, fee proposals and project management activities
• Manage your own workload and projects, delivering work to agreed budgets and timescales.
• Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
• You will undertake all work with an appropriate level of care and attention, compliant with RSK procedures and within given budgets and timescales.
• You will demonstrate very good communication skills with team members and peers. You will be self-motivated, exhibiting a proactive approach, working well within a team.
