Job summary

WSP is hiring an Associate Arboricultural Consultant to lead complex arboricultural commissions, oversee budgets and programmes, and nurture client relationships across the UK.

You will develop technical approaches for BS5837, EIA, DCO/NSIP, and construction-stage deliverables while supporting career development and mentoring within the team. A flexible/hybrid working pattern and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Substantial arboricultural consultancy experience with a track record leading complex projects.
• Strong ability to develop technical approaches for BS5837, EIA, DCO/NSIP, veteran/ancient trees.
• Experience mentoring and developing others, including training needs identification.
• Ability to support work winning and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Direct complex arboricultural commissions, ensuring quality, budget, programme and client requirements are met.
• Develop and review technical approaches for BS5837, EIA, DCO/NSIP, veteran/ancient tree and construction-stage deliverables.
• Support people managers in developing career pathways, mentoring arrangements and technical training.
• Build relationships with clients, authorities, industry bodies and internal disciplines to generate work and create value.
• Drive best practice, QA consistency, knowledge management and continuous improvement across the team.
