Job summary

Citi London seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Commodities Technology team. You will help design scalable market data engines, APIs, and real-time distribution services across Java, Python, or C# environments.

The role interfaces with Front Office desks and MQA, driving analytical capabilities and AI-enabled tooling. The position offers a hybrid work model (up to 2 days at home per week), a competitive base salary, and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Strong programming skills in at least one backend language (Java, Python, or C#).
• Experience with distributed systems and messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, gRPC).
• Familiarity with cloud, DevOps, containers, and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize high-throughput market data engines and real-time distribution services.
• Build modular APIs and event-driven architectures across Java, Python, or .NET ecosystems.
• Collaborate with Front Office desks and MQA to translate requirements into production software.
• Champion Generative AI and Agentic AI tooling within the software development lifecycle.
