Job summary

Neptune North Ltd. is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to deliver AI-enabled applications for defence and to guide a growing team. You will shape requirements with clients, lead AI projects, and contribute to compelling bids while mentoring engineers.

Expect work across RAG systems, prompts, and advanced LLM developments in a dynamic consultancy. The role emphasizes building trusted AI capabilities, production-ready delivery, and staying current with latest AI advances for defence

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years delivering or overseeing AI-enabled applications and workflows.
• Experience integrating AI components and RAG systems into applications.
• Experience designing prompts and managing context for LLMs.
• Solid understanding of transformer architectures and core ML concepts.
• Experience running AI applications in production with monitoring and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Influence the technical direction and strengthen Neptune North's AI capabilities.
• Provide leadership and hands-on delivery in AI projects.
• Work with clients to shape requirements and build trust.
• Contribute to winning bids with high-quality technical proposals.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Stay up to date with AI developments and advise on nascent technologies.
