Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to take technical ownership of complex ground-to-air communications systems, from design through to delivery, on mission-critical products. You will lead system design, define configurations for proposals, oversee documentation, and mentor junior engineers while driving quality improvements across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant technical field.
• Specialised knowledge of designing communications systems (VHF/UHF, navigation, surveillance).
• Experience in system/turnkey projects with budget management.
• Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate across stakeholders.
• Proactive planning and long-term project thinking.
• Analytical, organised and detail-oriented.
• Experience with CAD/drawing tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead system design with technical descriptions, diagrams and calculations.
• Define third-party equipment and configurations for proposals.
• Oversee documentation and test reports; implement corrective actions.
• Maintain project documentation integrity on SharePoint.
• Estimate engineering costs and manage document access.
• Act as primary technical contact with suppliers and customers.
• Provide cross-organisational technical support and drive QA improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Take technical accountability for a system when assigned.
