Senior Application Architect

Location: Glasgow - hybrid working

Salary: £62-£78K (plus up to 20% bonus, family healthcare & car allowance)

The Senior Application Architect supports the ongoing development of the Digitalisation Strategy for SP Energy Networks (SPEN). This role ensures architecture and data processes align with the business's strategic goals.

SPEN manages a complex application estate covering IT and OT, requiring continuous evolution to deliver digital services supporting business operations. Examples include Regulatory, Customer Service, ERP, Plant Management, GIS, Field Work Management, Operational Management System, and Business Intelligence.

Within this role, you'll design and implement the enterprise architecture framework, focusing on data, application, integration, and technology architectures, especially with emerging digital technologies like IoT, to bring significant customer and stakeholder value.

What you'll be doing

• Collaborate with ScottishPower's IT teams, IT Architecture, data governance, and the global networks business to define enterprise architecture aligned with the Iberdrola model.
• Establish and enforce architecture standards, policies, and guidelines for consistency and compliance.
• Assess delivery strategies across SPEN to ensure alignment, value, and economies of scale.
• Define business-specific architectures, evaluate standards, patterns, and technical components supporting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support application standards across Iberdrola Networks and contribute to innovation projects, from ideation to delivery.

What we're looking for

• Experience supporting D&D strategies development.
• Experience of enterprise-wide Technical and Solutions Architecture.
• Skills in identifying strategic requirements, evaluating IT solutions, and technology selection.
• Extensive IT experience in application-based roles.
• Academic achievement with recognized qualifications (degree or diploma).
• Experience managing budgets or contracts with suppliers.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Valid driving license.
