Senior Antenna Design Engineer (GPS applications)

Location: Buckinghamshire

Type: Permanent

Eligibility: Must be British Citizen

Role Overview:

The client designs and builds an array of antenna systems for communication, navigation, and identification in aerospace environments. They are seeking an Antenna Design Engineer to manage the full development lifecycle, including bid support, requirements capture, system-level design, concept development, simulation, prototyping, optimization, verification, and product support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and test innovative antenna and RF products.
2. Conduct electromagnetic simulations and analysis to optimize antenna performance.
3. Stay informed on emerging technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into product designs.
4. Perform requirements analysis.
5. Generate documentation to support product development and verification processes.
6. Support the qualification and review of designs against requirements.
7. Assist in the development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
8. Ensure technical projects are delivered within budget and schedule.
9. Lead or support bid activities, including requirements assessment, concept design, and task estimation.
10. Support legacy product maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of antenna and RF design.
• Understanding of antenna theory, transmission line theory, and RF principles.
• Experience with active/passive RF and microwave circuit design is desirable.
• Familiarity with electromagnetic solvers such as CST, FEKO, HFSS.
• Experience with RF test and measurement equipment including Vector Network Analyzers and Spectrum Analyzers.
• Experience with antenna test ranges or anechoic chambers is desirable.
