Job summary

Yoti is seeking an Android Engineer to design, implement, test and maintain our Android and Kotlin Multiplatform codebases. You will own the delivery pipeline, CI/CD, and Play releases while upholding high standards of quality and performance.

The role requires proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM. You will mentor juniors and collaborate with architects on standards and architecture in a hybrid/London-based setup.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Kotlin (primary language); Java reading ability for legacy code.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, lifecycle, and platform constraints.
• Jetpack Compose for modern declarative UIs.
• Coroutines & Flow for async/state management.
• Experience with RxJava/RxKotlin (maintenance/migration).
• Multi-module Gradle projects and build optimisation.
• Understanding of Clean Architecture and MVVM.
• DI with Dagger/Hilt.
• Navigation with Jetpack or custom coordinator patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production Android apps and SDKs from scratch.
• Own end-to-end delivery pipeline, including CI/CD setup and Google Play releases.
• Enforce code health via reviews, Git workflows, and automated testing.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, testing, refactoring, and docs.
• Translate product requirements into high-performance mobile features.
• Collaborate with UI/UX to implement polished interfaces.
• Align with QA and team leads on sprint priorities and releases.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead discussions on code quality.
• Stay current with Android technologies and Jetpack libraries.
