Job summary

Navan is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to design, build, and enhance our mobile applications in the business expense management space. You will collaborate with an international team of engineers and domain experts to deliver high-quality features, lead complex projects, and set technical direction for our Android platform.

Responsibilities include driving architectural choices, mentoring teammates, and ensuring robust testing with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing high-quality Android applications.
• Strong understanding of the full app development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK: App components, OS lifecycle, performance tuning, Gradle builds.
• Strong understanding of concurrency practices and experience with coroutines; MVVM and multi-tier architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship Android features in a large production app.
• Contribute to Android infrastructure for fast and reliable delivery.
• Review code, mentor developers, and write technical documentation.
• Lead development initiatives and set technical direction.
• Make architectural decisions based on data and requirements.
• Triage product and application issues and respond to problems promptly.
