Job summary

Convatec is establishing a new Manchester facility within the Citylabs SciTech campus to strengthen its global R&D network. The Analytical Laboratory Manager will lead the analytical testing programme, oversee planning, prioritisation and execution of testing, method development and validation, and work cross-functionally with project teams, Quality and manufacturing to deliver high-impact results.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ industry experience in medical device or pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
• Proven management experience leading and developing a team of scientists.
• Working knowledge of FDA and European quality-system regulations relevant to medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience in analytical method validation and method transfer.
• Strong understanding of product development processes and Design Controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Analytical team, including recruitment, development, coaching and performance management.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee the analytical testing programme and validation activities.
• Define strategies for analytical method development, validation and transfer per ICH guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance for research, troubleshooting and manufacturing support.
• Ensure methods and validation activities comply with regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and review/test reports.
• Ensure safety, quality compliance and appropriate risk assessments.
• Collaborate with project teams, Quality, and manufacturing sites.
