Title: Analytical/Senior Development Scientist > Associate Principal Scientist

SRG is working with a global CDMO that is rapidly expanding and looking for multiple Analytical Scientists at various levels to support their API division.

We are seeking scientists ranging from Scientist, Senior Analytical Scientist, to Associate Principal Scientist to join a rapidly growing global pharmaceutical company in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have experience in Non-GMP analysis of intermediates and APIs, utilizing techniques such as HPLC, GC, and others. Senior roles will involve leading analytical development projects and providing guidance and advice to colleagues.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in HPLC and GC analysis, specifically with APIs and/or small molecules within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with additional analytical methods such as NMR, MS, IR, or XRD is highly desirable.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Identify, develop, and optimize synthetic routes for small molecule drug substances (APIs), supporting both early and late-phase development.
• Develop, validate, and perform Tech Transfer on analytical methods (GMP and non-GMP).
• Calibrate and routinely monitor and maintain analytical equipment.
• Support the site Quality Management System, including investigations and CAPAs.
• Utilize techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR, MS, IR, and XRD.
• For Associate Principal Scientist role: lead and guide scientists within the analytical development team.

Skills Required:

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a scientific discipline.
• Background in Analytical Chemistry with recent experience in HPLC, GC, and other analytical techniques.
• Essential: Recent experience with APIs and small molecule analysis.
• Method Development experience is highly desirable.

Senior position requirements:

• Experience with regulatory requirements for analytical method development and validation for APIs.
• Project leadership experience.
