Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The Soft Commodities team at the Intercontinental Exchange manages the operations and development of contracts for London Cocoa, Robusta Coffee, White Sugar, and UK Feed Wheat. The team ensures compliance with Exchange Rules for certification, storage, and transfer of commodities, and collaborates with market participants, internal stakeholders, and regulators to maintain and enhance contract terms. As a team member, you will be involved in all operational and product development aspects, contributing wherever necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to all operational aspects of ICE London soft commodity contracts.
- Oversee proprietary systems like IFEU Guardian and the Softs Deliveries Platform for inventory, warehousekeeper, and delivery management, including maintenance, development, testing, incident resolution, and user training.
- Manage the physical delivery process and coordinate with ICE functions to ensure smooth deliveries.
- Handle client inquiries, build customer relationships, and draft internal and external communications.
- Visit, inspect, or audit warehousekeepers as needed.
- Undertake project work as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Proven experience with clearing operations for physically deliverable futures contracts.
- Experience with Exchange clearing systems.
- Experience in Cocoa, Coffee, Sugar, or Grains is advantageous but not essential.
- Degree-level education in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel and work outside regular hours.
