Job summary

Tyneside Surgical Services is recruiting a Band 6 Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner to provide high-standard, evidence-based care across anaesthetic and post-anaesthetic recovery for day-case procedures in Gateshead. Join a multidisciplinary team within our day-case facility at Team Valley and lead on clinical governance and service development.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration or HCPC-registered ODP.
• Post-registration experience in theatre anaesthesia and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled assistance to the anaesthetist during the anaesthetic phase.
• Prepare the anaesthetic environment prior to lists.
• Check anaesthetic machines, monitoring and emergency equipment.
• Assist with induction, maintenance and emergence from general anaesthesia.
• Support airway management and regional/local anaesthetic techniques where appropriate.
• Lead and supervise junior team members and participate in governance and safety processes.
