The Onyx Research Data Tech organization at GSK is responsible for the Research data ecosystem that enables data analysis and exploration at scale. The AI/ML Platform Engineering team is developing a premier platform encompassing MLOps/DevOps tools across Cloud and HPC, aiming to shorten development cycles and elevate engineering standards across AI/ML projects.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as a key engineer for the AIML platform, providing technical expertise in areas like GenAI, DevOps, Compute, and Cloud.
• Lead the design of major software components of the AIML Platform, contribute to code development in Python, and participate in design and PR reviews.
• Ensure key components are usable, reproducible, and performant at scale.
• Integrate with DataOps and Data Engineering products for optimal ML training performance.
• Lead or participate in scrum teams, offering technical guidance.
• Innovate strategies to improve end-user environments.
• Uphold best practices in engineering, including CI/CD processes, and contribute to ongoing improvements.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Significant industry experience in software engineering.
• Experience in AIML engineering, including large-scale model training and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Proficiency in Python, including documentation, testing, and operations tools.
• Expertise with modern development tools (git, DevOps, monitoring).
• Cloud expertise (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and libraries (Huggingface, Deepspeed).
• Experience with AI agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain).
• Knowledge of ML performance tuning, especially for large models and distributed training.
• CI/CD implementation experience.
• Experience with ML pipelines and MLOps tools.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools.
• Understanding HPC systems and performance optimization.
• Active engagement with open-source AIML tools and communities.
• Experience with agile environments and tools like Jira and Confluence.
