Job summary

DataCamp is building an AI tutoring system that adapts in real time to learners and aims to surpass the best human tutors. You will work on core AI systems, including prompt architectures and agentic workflows, delivering real-time, personalized tutoring at scale from a distributed setup.

This role can be done remotely from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Portugal or UAE, with collaboration across educators, content creators, and product teams to translate pedagogical goals into technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years building complex LLM-based systems with prompt engineering experience.
• Ability to design evaluation methods and custom metrics for learning outcomes.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with production infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Continual learning mindset with interest in research trends.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the AI tutoring system, including prompt architectures and real-time adaptive behaviors.
• Run experiments, develop metrics, and improve model reliability.
• Design scalable software that integrates AI with platform systems and content pipelines.
• Collaborate with educators, content creators, and product teams to translate pedagogy into tech solutions.
• Prototype model interactions and apply new research to improve tutor intelligence.
• Ensure quality, safety, and observability through testing and guardrails.
• Share knowledge and mentor teammates in a high-ownership environment.
