Job summary

Apache Associates in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead AI-enabled product work, turning capabilities into production-ready solutions and raising the bar for engineering teams.

You’ll design prompts, evaluation methods and agentic workflows, coach engineers across multiple squads, and help define best practices while delivering measurable value to the business.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience shipping production software in C#/.NET and React front-ends.
• Hands-on work with Large Language Models in commercial environments.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach engineers.
• Experience building evaluation frameworks and test harnesses for AI outputs.
• Daily use of AI development tools like GitHub Copilot or similar.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, context engineering and structured outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and refine prompts, context strategies and agentic workflows for real-world AI product features.
• Develop robust approaches to evaluating LLM outputs against real business cases and quality standards.
• Work across multiple providers and models, balancing quality, cost and latency.
• Coach engineers across multiple teams through pairing sessions, workshops and reviews.
• Create reusable prompt patterns, templates, evaluation harnesses and internal guidance.
• Establish and lead an internal AI community of practice and set standards.
• Provide engineering leadership with measurable evidence of AI value.
• Represent the organisation externally through talks or open-source contributions.
