Job summary

Apache Associates, Newcastle-based, is seeking an AI Software Engineer with strong C# .NET experience to turn AI concepts into production-ready features within our SaaS products.

The role focuses on building AI-powered capabilities using LLMs, prompt engineering, context design and structured outputs, ensuring accuracy, reliability, latency and cost are managed in real-world software.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial C# .NET development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, context design and structured outputs.
• Experience taking ideas from concept through to working software quickly.
• Experience evaluating LLM outputs using structured approaches.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Pragmatic approach to software engineering with production quality.
• Ability to articulate the business problem behind the technology.

Responsibilities

• Design and build prompts, context strategies and LLM integrations for real-world product features.
• Develop primarily in C# .NET, integrating AI capabilities into established codebases.
• Build production-grade AI services with error handling, fallbacks, monitoring and logging.
• Prototype new ideas quickly and turn experiments into robust production features.
• Develop structured approaches to evaluating LLM outputs using real business scenarios.
• Work with LLM APIs from multiple providers and manage quality, cost and latency.
• Use AI coding tools as part of daily development.
• Align solutions with coding standards, architecture and deployment pipelines.
