Job summary

GE Vernova’s Advanced Research Center is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead AI-driven projects across energy applications. You will design, prototype, and apply generative AI and foundation models while collaborating with researchers and GE business units.

The role emphasizes solving hard industrial problems and contributing to grant proposals. The position requires a PhD or MS with significant AI experience, strong Python skills, and experience leading AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with 5+ years AI focus OR MS with 8+ years AI focus.
• Demonstrated ability to write Python code and hands-on AI development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead AI projects.
• Familiarity with GenAI packages (OpenAI, Google, Meta) and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• US work authorization; relocation and visa sponsorship not provided for Masters level; EAR restrictions apply.

Responsibilities

• Research, conceptualize, and develop AI solutions for hard industrial problems.
• Lead projects and collaborate with teams of peer researchers.
• Guide development of new technologies and demonstrate value of AI through early prototypes.
• Mentor early-career researchers and support their growth.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed venues and write grant proposals.
