Job summary

Zego is hiring a Senior AI Product Manager for the Platform team. You’ll own a platform domain, define quarterly goals and help modernise critical services.

You’ll translate technical challenges into business value and ensure services are resilient, compliant and AI-ready for agents and apps. You will work in a hybrid model with London or Halifax offices, collaborating with legal, compliance and finance to embed governance from day one.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior AI Product Manager to join our Platform team. Platform powers every customer journey at Zego: the core services behind quoting, buying, paying for, changing, renewing and cancelling a policy.

You’ll own a product domain within Platform, defining its quarterly strategy and goals and helping refine the longer-term platform strategy as we rebuild and modernise some of Zego’s most critical services. You’ll turn technical challenges into business value, and make sure your services are resilient, compliant and ready to be used by AI agents as well as our apps.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define your domain’s quarterly strategy and goals, and help refine the longer-term plans for Platform, balancing new capability, legacy rebuilds and reliability.
• Lead complex discovery autonomously as we modernise the policy lifecycle, moving capability off legacy systems one safe slice at a time.
• Dive deep into technical detail, understanding dependencies and failure modes, and making informed trade-offs with engineering.
• Treat internal teams as your customers, so launching a new product, price or journey on the platform is fast and predictable.
• Make your services AI-ready, with clean, well-documented APIs and data that agents and automations can use safely, and establish AI-enabled workflows for your domain.
• Put the right metrics in place, from reliability and incidents to time-to-launch and cost to serve, and build the business case for platform investment.
• Build compliance in from day one with Legal, Compliance and Finance, so money flows and customer communications are accurate and auditable.
• Bring stakeholders along, running ceremonies with senior stakeholders, facilitating big-room planning and knowing when to escape.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Platform product ownership. A track record of owning a technical, platform or backend product domain and delivering material business impact in a high-growth environment.
• Technical literacy. Confident with engineers on system architecture, APIs, event-driven services and workflow orchestration. Ideally, you come from engineering or data science.
• Legacy modernisation. You’ve led incremental rebuilds of business-critical services while keeping the lights on.
• Data and commercial fluency. You use financial, behavioural and usage data to ground decisions, query Snowflake or Looker yourself, and can build the case for platform investment.
• Clarity in complexity. You untangle dependencies across multiple business domains and explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Regulated environment. Ideally, experience in insurance, payments, lending or financial services, with compliance built into product design.
• You work AI-first. You will use AI daily here, and we mean daily. You do not need to arrive an expert, but you do need to arrive curious, experiment fast, and take ownership of getting good quickly. People who wait to be trained will find this uncomfortable.
