Job summary

Ascent Software is seeking a senior, hands-on engineer to design, build, deploy, and continuously improve AI-enabled applications across product engineering, cloud architecture, and production AI operations. You will shape solutions from discovery to release, creating reusable patterns for the broader portfolio.

The defining requirement is delivering live AI capabilities within real applications and workflows, not just using AI tools.

Qualifications

Significant professional software engineering experience in senior/lead roles.
Hands-on delivery of AI-enabled products operating in production.
Strong backend experience in C#/.NET with distributed systems knowledge.
Deep experience with Azure and cloud services, security and telemetry.
Practical understanding of LLM architecture, retrieval, grounding and evaluation.
Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Own solutions from discovery and architecture through implementation, testing and production support.
Build AI capabilities into real applications and workflows with model/service integration.
Deliver robust web experiences, APIs, and data connections to AI components.
Create reusable patterns, templates and reference architectures for multiple projects.
Define testing strategies and measure AI quality, latency and reliability.
Instrument applications for observability, trace issues and implement fixes.
Embed authentication, secrets management, data protection and governance.
Analyze cost, performance and optimization of AI-powered solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentor a lean cross-functional team.
