Job summary

ConnexAI in Manchester is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Athena AI Platform and contribute to the core backend services powering conversational agents.

You will work with Node.js and TypeScript on scalable systems, take ownership of technical projects, and collaborate with engineers, product teams and AI specialists to push features into production.

Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL and Docker is preferred, and a passion for emerging AI technologies will help you thrive.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of backend services, REST APIs and software architecture.
• Experience with Git and Docker.
• Familiarity with AWS, Linux and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and contribute to technical decisions.
• An interest in conversational AI, LLMs and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services powering ConnexAI's Athena AI Platform.
